The September 2014 PASRR webinar "An Overview of Olmstead Planning: Addressing Nursing Facility Placement Issues in the Process" occurred on Tuesday, September 9th, at 1 PM EST (10 AM PST).

Synopsis of the Topic:

The presentation will provide an overview of Olmstead planning and the key issues that states should address when developing an Olmstead plan. Particular attention will be made to nursing facility placement issues, and why the PASRR process should be addressed in Olmstead plans.

Speaker

Kevin Martone has worked in community integration and Olmstead related issues in a direct service or administrative capacity for roughly 20 years. As a former mental health commissioner for New Jersey, Mr. Martone was responsible for developing the state Olmstead plan, and also negotiated an Olmstead settlement agreement. My. Martone also consulted in several states on Olmstead issues, and provided guidance to federal agencies on Olmstead issues, including DOJ, CMS, SAMHSA and HUD.
