PASRR 101: Collaboration and a Successful PASRR Program

The April PASRR webinar took place on Tuesday, April 9 at 1:00-2:30 PM Eastern (10AM Pacifc). The April webinar was presented by Dr. Janet Spinelli PCNS, a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Sam Fante, Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Association of PASRR Professionals (NAPP).

Synopsis of the Topic

The webinar highlighted collaboration as a fundamental component of a successful PASRR program. Collaboration was explored within the Code of Federal Regulation requirements and the PASRR 101 guidelines that were presented during the recent PTAC state trainings. The webinar described ways of using collaboration and interagency relationships to support state program reform to meet the goals of PASRR. The webinar also explored the use of collaboration for distinguishing "qualifiers" in the identification of individuals with mental illness (MI) and/ or intellectual/ developmental disability (ID/DD). Finally, webinar attendees learned about how collaboration helps ensure appropriate placement and services.
