PASRR and Related Conditions

The August PASRR webinar took place on August 13th, 2013 at 1 PM Eastern (10 AM Pacific) and featured Betty Ferdinand and Carla Lasley from Collaborative Industries.

Synopsis of the Topic

The webinar covered a variety of topics in how PASRR applies to persons with mental illness, intellectual disabilities and related conditions. Speakers Carla Lasley and Betty Ferdinand addressed the current thinking on intellectual disabilities versus related conditions; PASRR's focus on functional limitation rather than intellectual deficits in determining appropriate placement and service delivery. The webinar also discussed the promising practices for determining appropriate placement and service delivery as a result of a Level II PASRR evaluation.

Speakers

Carla Lasley

Ms. Carla Lasley brings over thirty years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities, from institutional to community-based service settings. Ms. Lasley holds the distinction of being a former State Director of Nebraska's Developmental Disabilities Division.

Betty Ferdinand

Ms. Betty Ferdinand has nearly forty years of management experience and has worked in various capacities throughout the continuum of human service delivery from community-based services to long-term care in both nursing facility and assisted living settings. Ms. Ferdinand was also instrumental in successfully developing implementing and managing all aspects of the PASRR process for the State of Nebraska.
