Synopsis of the Topic:
The PASRR Technical Assistance Center has recently reviewed the tools states use for their preliminary Level I PASRR screens, and has analyzed PASRR-related items in the Minimum Data Set (MDS). In this webinar, the Director of PTAC, Ed Kako, will review some of those findings and describe the next steps PTAC will take in the research it conducts in partnership with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and with states.

Ed Kako
Dr. Kako is a Senior Associate at Mission Analytics Group. Dr. Kako leads the work at Mission Analytics on long-term services and supports. In addition to directing the PASRR Technical Assistance Center, Dr. Kako serves as Mission Analytics Project Director on the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Technical Assistance contract (under subcontract to New Editions Consulting), which is designed to provide technical assistance to states wishing to add or augment their community-based Medicaid-funded long-term services and supports. Dr. Kako also serves as Project Director for Mission’s Balancing Incentive Program (BIP) – No Wrong Door contract with CMS (also under subcontract to New Editions Consulting). Dr. Kako recently led a project helping the state of Colorado to simplify its system of Medicaid-funded long-term services and supports (LTSS). Dr. Kako has an M.Sc. in Community and Regional Planning from Temple University in Philadelphia and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
