Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) is a federal requirement to help ensure that individuals are not inappropriately placed in nursing homes for long term care. This webinar will provide an overview of the basics of PASRR. An in-depth exploration of the PASRR regulation, from the origin of the regulation through its evolution to the present, will be covered. The fundamentals of the PASRR regulation will be broken down. Promising practices, common challenges, and frequently asked questions will be addressed.
Speaker:
Ed Kako, PhD, has served as the Director of the PASRR Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) since 2009. His areas of expertise include: community-based, Medicaid-funded long-term care, balancing Medicaid long-term care systems between institutional and community care, and creation of health and safety-related materials for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those who support them.
