The February 2015 PASRR webinar "West Virginia's Level I Journey: A Systems Approach" occurred on Tuesday, January 13th, at 1 PM EST (10 AM PST).

Synopsis of the topic:
West Virginia will present on their Level I screening tool developed to help eliminate false positives and to more accurately identify those individuals with a serious mental illness and/or an intellectual disability/ developmental delay. For West Virginia, a systems approach meant that all entities involved in the process must be trained extensively and frequently Representatives from West Virginia will discuss WV’s current definition of specialized services as well as anticipated changes. The presenter will also discuss the importance of automation to allow reviews to shorten the timeframes for Level I and Level II reviews.

Richard L. Workman, MA, is a Licensed Psychologist and President of Psychological Consultation & Assessment, Inc., and the PC&A BMS LTC Project Director. He has continuously provided contracted psychological services to the WV Bureau for Medical services since 1983. While his office is responsible for overseeing components of the Level II evaluation, development of the Level I screening tool became a primary focus for his office.
